Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is one of Australia’s largest financial service providers and has approximately 52,000 employees. In March 2006, the Bank announced a new strategic direction and an updated vision to drive the Bank through its next phase of development. Given the change in the strategy and vision, CBA needed support in designing and writing an internal staff newsletter with a completely new look and feel.
As part of the editorial committee, I worked closely with CBA and their designers to redesign the look and feel of the newsletter. The goal was to increase staff engagement and encourage them to embrace the new strategy. I interviewed senior executives and employees across the business for stories and wrote, edited and proofread content to produce a monthly hard-copy newsletter.
